Having worked at Autosport Magazine for 8 years I was in a position to have access to most of the F1 Drivers. I was frustrated by the amount of fake signed models and memorabilia that were surfacing on eBay, so I formed “The Signature Company”, which supplies GENUINE signed models and merchandise. I guarantee every signature for life and I can do this as I am personally at every signing and watch the driver, rider or moviestar sign each item. I take photos of every signing and if they change pen or item I take another photo.

With many of the stars I have to take the models to them, like with the Hollywood stars, the models have to go with me on a plane to Hollywood . To do this I have to take the models apart and remove a panel for the star to sign, usually the bonnet (or hood as the Americans call them).

With the F1 Drivers it’s usually Monaco , and the Minichamps F1 models do not have a removable panel, so it’s a long drive down to Monaco in the Mercedes Sprinter van. The bikes are excellent because the side fairing comes off, and the bike riders are great guys to deal with, so it’s usually a big suitcase full of side fairings to a circuit where they are testing, usually Barcelona .

All in all I now know EasyJets flying routes off by heart, and I have detailed knowledge on how to take most 1:18th scale models apart.

I have met some great celebrities and drivers, and I can honestly say that most of the drivers/riders and movie stars do not sign because of the money, but because they know that the person buying the finished model is a real fan.
